The final Shopify policy should distinguish unopened products, opened products, shipped orders, installed products, and manufacturer warranty issues.
Before shipment
Orders may be easier to cancel before shipment, pickup preparation, local delivery, or installation scheduling begins.
After shipment
Return shipping responsibility, freight damage steps, missing parts, and restocking fees need to be explicit before Merchant Center review.
Installed products
Installed products need separate policy language because installation changes the condition, logistics, and return path.
